My primary work is graphic design. I’ve worked on both print and web projects, although the bulk of my experience is with print design. I’ve designed logos, business cards, web sites, postcards, bookmarks, notepads, brochures, banner ads, posters, and flyers.
While the majority of my work load is graphic design, my degree is actually in Fine Art which I find helps in my secondary focus: illustration.
I find that having the ability to draw/paint can help a client get just the right look without the hassle of searching for a piece of art that may or may not be out there. Illustration projects I’ve had include, raster to vector conversion, mascot creation, book covers, and children’s book illustration.
When it comes to illustration, I’ve also been blessed to discover a love for both traditional media and digital media. It’s generally much quicker for me to work digitally, but sometimes nothing beats a good set of colored pencils!
I also absolutely love to make new things using bits and bops of whatever I had on hand. This is one reason why mask making has wormed its way into my life as it gives me a perfect excuse to browse thrift stores for new materials and inspiration. Each mask I make is 100% hand made. I shape the forms with a paper-mache like product, sand them, paint them and then decorate them. A full gallery of the masks I’ve made can be found at Facades.
